Meet Night Trains’ Special Guest, Bill Schrankler, author of Shadows of Time…Minnesota’s Surviving Railroad Depots.
A major new work on Minnesota railroad history, his 256-page full-color publication is an enjoyable book for both the serious rail fan and curious history buff.
The coffee table-styled book (9 1⁄2” x 11”) covers 168 of Minnesota’s existing railroad depots and features the 53 now on the National Register of Historic Places.
Entertaining and fact-filled, with hundreds of photographs, maps and other images, the narrative provides a fresh look at Minnesota railroad history through brief studies of these aging train depots.
Bill will have books to sell and sign on January 4th, 11th and the 18th.
Bill will also be joined by artist John Cartwright, well known for his fine pen and ink drawings of iconic passenger depots, past and present.
The museum will also be selling copies of our The Twin City Model Railroad Club/Museum 1934-2009 history book as well.
