FAO Schwartz (the world-famous toy store chain) had this layout hand-built in Germany by the Märklin Company and displayed it at the 1972 International Toy Fair.

The Layout is based on a typical alpine scene of the 1950s. It can operate 4 different trains simultaneously without an operator present. It contains 6 transformers and 24 switches.

This is the first time in nearly 50 years that the layout has been available for public viewing.

Our sincerest gratitude to Barry Krelitz and his family for the loan of this layout.
