New museum attraction by Greater Midwest Lego Train Club (GMLTC); relocated to TCMRM in March 2018 and currently on display.

The Lego Train Layout has dimensions nearly 10′ wide by 23′ long, and 5 functional Lego train loops.

Nearly everything has been custom designed and built from Lego pieces by members of the GMLTC. It was a running two year project with an approximate estimate of total Lego pieces near half-a-million.

Mainly the Lego trains run on a 9V DC train system (similar to HO scale) produced by Lego from 1991 to 2007. Modern Lego Power Function 9V battery-powered trains also run on the layout.

The trains are officially “L scale” (short for Lego scale) with tracks and trains 6 Lego studs wide (roughly S scale). Frequently the trains are built larger, 8 Lego studs wide (closer to O scale), which runs on the same track but allows more room for custom building with extra detail.
