This museum-quality model railroad layout is based on a modification of a John Armstrong track plan. Members of the Waupaca Area Model Railroaders (WI), under the direction of project foreman Bob Todd (Model Railroader, July 2008) published owner of the Des Moines sub of the Chicago Northwestern Railroad, built this layout as a fund raising project for the Winnebago Land Division of the National Model Railroad Association.

This 4’1″ x 8’1″ DCC controlled oval layout has freight trains that travel from the city of Waupaca, WI through a highly detailed and scenic curved divider to reach the industrial park in Mosinee, WI. Details abound through scenes scattered throughout the layout, at the depot, on city streets, and in the industrial area. Railroad, street and advertising signs provide an air of authenticity and realism. Club members donated hundreds of hours to build this layout.

Our sincere thanks to the Gjevre family for their generosity and effort in securing this layout for the museum.
